Annual Fund Kick Off 2008-2009

Hi All: Last year we raised $302,141 for the Annual Fund. This year we plan to raise $350,000. We had a number of successful initiatives that motivated our Aiken Prep Family including the Gary Albrecht Challenge, the Morning Sun Foundation Challenge and the Class Competition supporting the Athletic and Performing Arts Center Building Fund.

2007-2008 Annual Fund
Albrecht Challenge income - $171,000 (part of this went to 06-07 Annual Fund income).
Morning Sun Challenge income -$58,770.
Athletic and Performing Arts Center Building Fund-$53,150.
Other Donations.
Total $302,141 (Our goal was $250,000).

This year we begin to build towards our 100th Anniversary to be celebrated in 2016. Our activities will include a variety of events including an October Alumni Reception on Long Island,
A Jesse Colin Young Concert February 7th, and the Spring Gala and “Thanks for the Memories” tribute to Robert J. Harrington, Sr. to be held the night before the Aiken Trials on March 13th.

Centennial Celebration -As we look to the future, Aiken Preparatory School will focus on three areas: the cultivation of an increasingly strong Annual Fund (our goal this year is $350,000), development of a $10 million dollar endowment to be established in full by our centennial year 2016, and improvements to grounds and facilities (including a new Athletic and Performing Arts Center).
