Aiken Prep Athletic Programs
Aiken Prep believes that physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship contribute to the development of physical well-being, character, and self-esteem. They are therefore integral parts of every child’s growth and education.
The Aiken Prep athletic program seeks to help all students, regardless of their abilities, improve them and achieve success. We expect that the values and ethics learned by our student athletes through their participation in our program will extend beyond the athletic domain.
The focus of interscholastic sports is to help students develop individual physical fitness and sport-specific skills in a team-oriented environment. When the members of an athletic squad rely on one another and work together, they become a single unit, striving for a common goal. Our players learn to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of others, both on and off the field. We expect them to maintain the highest standards of courtesy and good sportsmanship at all times.
Participation in games is based on maturity and physical development. Player skill level, combined with game skill and competitive skill levels, is considered. This provides the student with the best opportunity for successful involvement in a given sport.
Aiken Prep competes at the varsity level in the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) league, and the middle school plays against private schools in the CSRA middle school league. Teams and individual student athletes may qualify for SCISA championships and awards.
